Ashish Ragwani :-

Ashish Ragwani born at Jodhpur (Rajasthan) in a complete musical family, his Father Mr. Chandra Prakash Ragwani Ji is a very eminent Tabla Player and Music Director and his Mother Mrs. Swarnlata Ragwani is a Kathak Dancer and exquisite Choreographer. He has a sibling and his name is Anish Ragwani who is learning Guitar. Ashish’s Grandmother Smt. Krishna Chhangani was first lady in India who did Bhawai Dance and was the first female Katha Recitalist of Rajasthan. His Grand Father Mr. Jugal Kishor Chhangani is a very famous and renowned lyricist, his Uncle Dr. Indrajeet Chhangani is a well-known Singer and he has completed his Ph.D. in Music.

Musical Journey :-

Ashish Ragwani started learning tabla initially under the guidance of his uncle Dr.Indrajeet Chhangani from the tender age of 3 and took some lessons from Ustad Abdul Shakoor Sulemani (Bikaner), he performed his first solo recital at the age of 8, and so on his musical journey got started. He started learning table seriously from the age of 11 and become a Ganda Band disciple of Pt.Mahendra Parihar Ji (Purab Gharana) and learn tabla for 10 years. Presently he is a Ganda Band Shagird of Shri Mridangraj Ji of Ajrada Gharana. He is an approved All India Radio artist from the age of 17. His performances were broadcasted on Surtarang Radio, London at the age of 18. He has given his tabla performances on the India’s eminent stages like Saptak in Ahmedabad, Harivallabh Sangeet Mahasabha in Punjab, Spic Macay in Jaipur, Aarohi in Bangalore, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Academy, etc. He has accompanied many great Singers and Musicians, few of them are : Pt. Rakesh Chaurasiya Ji, Padma Shri Anup Jalota Ji, Ustad Rajkumar Rizvi Ji, Ustad Sabir Sultan Khan Ji, Ustad Dilshad Khan Ji, Pooja Gaitonde Ji, Mrs. Sawani Shende Ji, Pt. Chiranjilal Ji and many more. He has also performed with renowned drummer and Brand Ambassador of “Meinl Percussion” Mr. Shyaam Edwankar Ji, he has played in many musical albums as well. Playing Tabla is not only his passion but his religion, he is an Ardent “Sadhak” of his instrument and has a vision to develop the interest of Indian Classical Music.
